JOANNE LOMAS

Piece for Shift Exhibition by Joanne Lomas
“I reinterpret the banal experiences of our everyday life, sometimes with an unconventional depiction…”

As an emerging visual artist, Joanne devotes her time to exploring and making art using movement, emotion and “the moment’ as themes. She looks to images in her immediate surroundings to connote her perspectives of comfort, discomfort, and the uncanny while reinterpreting the experiences of everyday life, with a unique depiction.

Works created by Joanne, may appear distorted and abstract. Though much of what she creates has an unconventional feel.

After spending over 25 years in the service industry, Joanne decided to follow her life long ambition to return to school and attain an art degree. She completed a four year BFA degree with Georgian College & Thompson Rivers University.

Joanne is also an avid En Plein Air painter of more traditional scenes.
