January Exhibition 2021
Jan Exhibition runs from Jan 5th- Jan 30th 2021
The Works presented at The Gallery between January 5th, – January 30th, 2021 were created by A.N. Myer Secondary School Visual Arts students during COVID Spring. Many of the works in the show reveal feelings of uncertainty, confusion and anxiety that students experienced, and are still experiencing, during this challenging time in their lives. Images explore themes of loneliness, separation, new outlooks and finding the beauty in nature and simple pleasures. The artwork is evidence that, as the world hibernated, young people found creative ways of staying connected with friends and family. It is clear, as we analyze the works of these young people, that, creating works of art served as an outlet and helped many young people develop healthy ways of managing feelings of isolation, click here for a downloadable PDF AN Myer
Steve Wilson Studios and The Gallery, along with the students of A.N. Myer Secondary School, would like to acknowledge Tracy Garratt and Steve Wilson for their work in curating this show. Many thanks go to the City of Niagara Falls for their support through the Niagara Falls Cultural Development Fund which has made this project possible.
This fund has empowered young people in our community, showing that the Arts matter, the contributions of young people matters, and the community benefits from the Arts as a catalyst for economic growth.
